Winery
CYAN Bodega, is one of the most recognised and admired wineries, by both national and international critics, for the quality of their wines since it was founded in 1999. Only 12 km from Toro, in the province of Zamorana, the landscape adopts the wavy forms of these lands with slight slopes and rolling hills. The winery is located on the road that joins Toro and Venialbo, just after the municipality of Valdefinjas. There are three naves, one of which is half-buried, where the barrels are kept, and the other two are at the top of a hill from where you can see an impressive view of the region and its vineyards. The farm where Cyan is located is comprised of 100 acres of vineyards, olives and pines, which lend very special characteristics for the production of quality wines. ness. The Tinta de Toro variety and the traditional production method allows these wines to be kept fort a long time. Its production barely exceeds 150,000 bottles per year, this quantity allows to maintain quality standards only available to very few wineries in Toro. For the production of the wines the Cyan Winery uses a selection table so that the grapes that reach the tanks are of maximum quality. Its soils are poor in organic matter, sandy with some Albion debris on the surface and loamy in the subsoil which favours water retention in drought season.
The most striking feature of Cyan, which mothers the “queen” variety in the area, Tinta de Toro, is its old vineyard surface: 2 acres with vines that are more than 80 years-old, planted in a traditional framework and yields that barely exceed 3000kg per acre. Its soils are sandy on the surface but are of limestone and clay at the subsoil. The soils that surround the winery are of calcareous character adding touches of minerality and fine
